Use waterproof mascara. The last thing you want is the photographer taking a picture of your makeup leaving your face before you leave the
altar. A smoky eyeliner applied lightly along the upper and lower lashes will photograph well. You can use a wet eyeshadow instead of an
eyeliner for this.
Use a lip liner for natural lip definition and to help keep your lipstick from feathering. Apply liner all over your lips and it will be kiss-proof and
long-wearing. Apply lip color over the lip liner with a brush. This allows it to be applied evenly and fully. Remember not to use frosted shades.
Just a touch of lip gloss over your lipstick will provide a hint of shine. Apply just a bit of it to the center of the bottom lip only.
Confused about color? E-mail me and I can recommend a color palette based on your skin tone. You’ll want to wear a little more color for an
evening wedding, a little less for a daytime event.
Blush should show just a soft glow and never any harsh lines. Blend well and lightly dust face powder over it. See top of this page and face
tips for more information.
Wear a fragrance, but never overdo your aroma. Your fragrance should not arrive before you do. Try a layering technique of scented body
wash, moisturizing lotion, and a sheer fragrance mist for a long-wearing scent. See top link on Shop page for recommendations.

Bridal Info and Tips
Makeup for Photography
Bridal party photographs tend to turn out better if the bridesmaids are all wearing the same glamour look, and the bride has her own
customized glamour makeup look. Matte finish foundations work best. Choose eyeshadows that are soft and neutral and enhance your eye
color, instead of competing with it. Again, opt for the matte and stay away from the sparkly and shimmery eyeshadows. If you have fair skin,
dust a light pink blusher onto the apples of your cheeks. If your skin is beige or bronze-toned, select a rose shade. Lipsticks should be at least
one shade darker than what is normally worn, as lips tend to fade away in photography.
The Plan
Start a basic skin care program 2-3 months prior to your wedding day. A daily care routine in the morning and evening of cleansing, toning and
moisturizing primes your face for the sheer makeup look preferred by brides. Stay consistent with your routine so that your skin won’t get
stressed out. Experiment too close to your wedding date and you may wind up with breakouts and blotchy skin.
If you plan on using a sunless tanner for a great all-over glow on your wedding day, start this process about two weeks prior to the wedding.
See Sunless Tan tips here.
Get your hair done before you put your makeup on so you won’t have any stray hairspray on your face.
Dab some concealer onto any imperfections and blend well. Select a foundation shade that matches your jaw line, not the back of your hand. It
will give a smooth and even-toned finish as well as guarding against environmental elements.
Put translucent face powder on over your foundation to set your makeup and help control oil and shine. Have some pressed powder in a
compact for touch-ups throughout the day.
